NEETER, Rabbi Sherwin P., passed away at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles, MO, on Tuesday, October 8, 2002. He was a rabbi at Beit B’Resheet congregation in St. John, MO, for more than 20 years. The name of the congregation is Hebrew for “House of New Beginnings.” Sherwin was Sales manager for Cardone of Philadelphia, PA. As rabbi, husband, father, son-in-law, brother, employee and friend, Sherwin made time for others. He gave aid and comfort to many, and his gratitude toward God and His children was boundless. Sherwin will be remembered for his loving care of his dear family, congregation and friends. His umistakable booming voice, infectious laugh and friendly demeanor will never be forgotten by all those privileged to meet and know him. He was a role model for the world and shall be missed deeply. Sherwin served his country from 1968 to 1972 with tours of duty in the Air Force in both Vietnam and Thailand. Always a servant of God, the young soldier served his mates in the military as a lay rabbi. Always a family man, Sherwin loved and was proud of his parents, the late Werner and Irene Neeter. Sherwin is survived by his wife, Linnie of St. Charles; daughter Jessica and her fiancee Terry Styers of Maryland Heights, son, Jacob of St. Charles; son, T. Mike Mooney, daughter-in-law Abby and grandson “Mick” Mooney, all of Jackson, Mississippi; brother, Ronald J. Neeter and his wife, Judy, and their sons, Todd Neeter, David Neeter and Eric Kleeber; his mother-in-law, June Lusky; Uncle Wilbert Meyer and Aunt Lois Meyer.
