Rachel “ Church Lady” Pauline Clift of Portage des Sioux, MO, passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the age of 84. Devoted mother of Angie (Steven) Young and Billy (Karen) Clift; dear sister of Mac Morrison; several grand cats and grand dogs; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Rachel is preceded in death by her loving husband, William H. Clift, her parents, Cora Mae and Lee Morrison, and her siblings, Mary Silvey, Mickey Newman, Jay Morrison and Armond Morrison.
Rachel was a member of Harvester Church of the Nazarene. She worked at Bellefontaine State Hospital as a social worker for over 30 years. She retired after many years, only to go back to work at BJC Hospital St. Peters as an Emergency Department registrar. After retiring from BJC, she would continue to volunteer there.
Rachel made many friends at work and church throughout her life. Her best friends of over 50 years, Donna and Johnny Montgomery, were always having fun and laughing about something. Her sister-in-law, Shirley Ruff, was also a very good friend to her.
Rachel loved her church and attended many activities and events during her time as a member and was known as “Church Lady”. She was very devoted to her faith in God and volunteered much of her time to helping with activities they hosted. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Memorials may be made in Rachel's name to Harvester Church of the Nazarene, St. Jude Children's Hospital or American Cancer Society.
