Memorial contributions may be made to Christview Christian Church, 64 Terrie Lane, St. Charles, Missouri 63301. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Rose Carter Tiffany; loving father of Celia Catherine Tiffany, Virginia Claire Tiffany and Jean Anne (Charles) Closz; cherished grandfather of six and great grandfather of three; preceded in death by his parents, Nelson John and Sylvia Marilla Sprague Tiffany, a brother, Nelson Tiffany and three sisters, Mildred Tiffany, Louise Sprague and Lillian Kunz. Mr. Tiffany was part of the design team which made the Bell X-1, the first plane to break the sound barrier and he participated in the design of the XP-59, the first U.S. jet plane. Both planes are on display in the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. He worked at McDonnell Douglas for over ten years as an aircraft design engineer.
