Emblem

Ray Bernard, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Friday, February 7, 2025 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of over 63 years to Jean Bernard; cherished son of the late Arlie and Leola Bernard; devoted father of Lori (Dan) Thacker, Angie (John) Lewis and Amy (Steven) Pryor; loving grandfather of Katie (Chris) Nation, Maggie Hollander, Emily (Bill) Kannady, Ashley (Brandon) Hermann, Nora Pryor, Ian Pryor and Jane Pryor; treasured great-grandfather of Blake Nation, Jacob Nation, Riley Dickerson, Stella Kannady, Isla Kannady, William Kannady and Dean Hermann; dear brother of Arlene Hogue and the late Joan Nadler.

Ray proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He was a lifelong member of First Assembly Church. His faith was the cornerstone of his life, as he actively participated in Men's Bible Studies and was a dedicated member of Ministries to Men. He also took part in several mission trips, always eager to serve and share his love for God. His commitment to faith and family extended to his involvement in Marriage Encounter, where he and Jean mentored and encouraged others in their relationships.

Ray’s passion for gospel music led him to host the Gospel Music Radio Show on KCLC Lindenwood every Sunday, getting the name "Ray Ray the DJ” from family and friends. His uplifting spirit and warm presence resonated with listeners, just as his contagious smile and outgoing nature endeared him to everyone he met.

A true jack of all trades, Ray could fix anything and loved tinkering with projects, especially his beloved '34 Ford. He was an avid car enthusiast who enjoyed attending the Indianapolis 500 and car shows. Ray also cherished time on the water, enjoying boating and skiing with family and friends. Ray lived his life with a servant’s heart, leading by example and walking steadfastly in his faith. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to First Assembly Church.
