Ray Rockwell, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018, at the age of 75. Beloved husband of the late Donna Rockwell, the love of his life to whom he was married for 48 wonderful years; cherished son of the late Roy and Bernice Rockwell; devoted father of Robert (Brenda) Rockwell, Robin Rockwell (Rob Smith), Debra (Wayne) Gaddy, Dennis (Jodi) Rockwell, Timothy (Sarah) Rockwell, and Stacie (Ryan) Fine; proud grandfather of Ali Rockwell, Justin Rockwell, Jessica Rockwell, Karissa Gaddy, Devin Gaddy, and Noah Rockwell; treasured great-grandfather of Kylie Hendel and Karter Hendel; loving brother of Walter (Barbara) Rockwell, Mike (Nancy) Rockwell, and Chuck Rockwell; and dear son-in-law of Cletus Anthony Kalz.
In addition to his wife and parents, Ray was preceded in death by his siblings, Joyce Rockwell, Johnny Rockwell, Diane Rockwell, and Linda Rockwell.
Ray proudly served his country with honor in the United States Army. He retired from the Ford Motor Company after a 35 year career and was then able to open his own photography business, Ray Rockwell Photography. He photographed events in the community and donated much of his time and photos to The Community News. Ray also had a lifelong passion for golfing and spent many happy hours on the green. He had a generous nature, and selflessly shared his personal strength with others who turned to him as a mentor over the years. Ray was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, son-in-law, and friend to many. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
