Raymond Bernard Garvels, of Saint Louis, MO, passed away Monday, August 26, 2024, at the age of 92. Loving husband of Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Garvels; beloved son of the late Bernard and Elizabeth Garvels; devoted father of Elizabeth Rae (Philip) Candiloro and David John (Tammy) Garvels; cherished grandfather of Christopher (Emily) Boehning, Jesse Boehning, and Brooke (Vadim) Mamrenko; treasured great-grandfather of Alyssa (Kolton) Boehning, Isabella Beene-Boehning, Graysen Boehning, Jace Boehning, and Evelyn Mamrenko; and great-great grandfather of Parker Ahnen; dear brother of John (Dorothy) Garvels. Preceded in death by his sister, Rosemary (Ray) Callier and brother, Bernard (Betty Survives) Garvels Jr. 

Raymond proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was known for his vibrant spirit, sharp sense of humor, and kind heart. Always ready to lend a hand, Raymond was a dedicated volunteer and active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church. His love for travel took him to new places where he delighted in discovering new foods and enjoying good beer. With a notable sweet tooth, Raymond never missed his nightly two pieces of candy, and he had a special fondness for key lime pie. He cherished time spent with children, especially his grandchildren, and was an avid collector. Raymond was a passionate fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Blues. Raymond was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. 

Memorials may be made in Raymond 's name to Disabled American Veterans.
