Raymond H. Hollaway of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Sunday, January 14, 2018, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of Jane E. Hollaway; cherished son of the late Raymond S. and Pauline Hollaway; devoted father of Dan (Marcia) Hollaway, Tracy Diekmann, Laura (Gary) Owens, Stanley Hollaway, Kevin Hollaway, and Kenneth "KJ" (Tammy) Hollaway; loving grandfather of 16; treasured great-grandfather of 14; dear brother of Virgil (Nancy) Hollaway; and loving uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Raymond is also preceded in death by his son-in-law Jay Diekmann and sister Dorothy Noel.
Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy in the Korean War before returning home and dedicating many years as a carpenter in the cabinetry business. He was a devout catholic and long-time parishioner of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. He was also a member of Local #1596 Carpenter Union and Knight of Columbus of St. Charles. He enjoyed spending his spare moments on the Mississippi River either fishing or running trot lines with his children. He coached little league baseball and never missed a game. Raymond also enjoyed bowling and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Above all else, Raymond treasured his family and friends and spent as much time as he could making memories with them. Raymond was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
