Regis C. Blutas

Regis Cyprian Blutas, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at the age of 88. Loving husband of Louise R. Blutas; beloved son of the late Ludwig and Jenny Blutas; devoted father of Regis Jude (Edna) Blutas, Joseph Chester (Kathy Gehrig) Blutas, David John Blutas, Judith Ann (Thomas) Marovich, and David Regis Joseph Blutas; cherished grandfather of Christina Marie Marovich, and Jesse Jo (Hailey) Blutas; treasured great-grandfather of Calliope Blutas; and loving uncle and friend. Preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy; brother, Leo; grandson, Thomas David Marovich, Jr.

Regis was a member of the Knights of Columbus in St. Peters. He was a devout catholic and member of Saints Joachim & Ann. He had a kind and giving heart. His guidance made a profound impact on the lives of those around him. He was loved by not only his family but his children’s friends as well, and the neighborhood kids. Regis had an open-door policy to help any of them when they were in need. He volunteered and dedicated his time wherever he could. He volunteered as a representative of the Union Pacific Railroad for the less fortunate children. At Christmas time, he would dress up as Santa, with his wife as Mrs. Claus, to give out gifts. He also ran the after-school daycare program at Saints Joachim and Ann for many years.

Regis worked for the railroad for 40 years before his retirement, a career he loved. He also later started a trucking business. He loved sports, some of his favorites were basketball, golf, and baseball.  He played, coached and watched them all. He was a great storyteller and loved to joke around. He had a delightful personality and enjoyed making people smile. Regis made friends wherever he went, everyone seemed to gravitate towards him. He’s been a heroic figure in many people’s lives.

Regis was a very inspiring person, loyal husband, father and friend. Regis was married for 67 years to Louise, the true love of his life.  He was a wonderful father and exceptional grandfather.  He is a genuine and very caring person. Regis was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Regis's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
