Reverend Robert M. Dohm, of St. Charles, MO, passed from this life to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 28, 2014, at the age of 88. Loving husband of Aileen M. Dohm (NEE:Aileen M. Sterchi); beloved son of the late Herman and Frieda Dohm; devoted father of Jan (Dean) Rund, Paul (Amy) Dohm, Becky (Dave) Prigel and Judi (Doug) Privitt; cherished grandfather of Derek (Summer) Rund, Kristin (Wian) Fourie, Angela (Pete) Kleinsasser, Andy (Abbey) Dohm, Michael Dohm, Jonathan Dohm, Kayla Dohm, Ryan Blumenstock, Lauren (Steven) Gum, Andy Prigel, Rev. Josh (Alli) Privitt and Drew Privitt; treasured great-grandfather of Aliya Fourie, Camryn Kleinsasser, Deacon Kleinsasser, Emersyn Kleinsasser, Jasha Dohm and Amelia Gum. He is preceded in death by his brother Armin Dohm, sister Annette Folkerts and step-mother Addie Dohm.
Bob served in the US Navy at the end of WWII. He then attended Elmhurst College and Eden Theological Seminary, earning his Bachelor of Divnity Degree in 1953 and his Masters of Divinity Degree in 1973. His ministry through the United Church of Christ called him to Browns, IL, Mt. Vernon, IN, Kahoka, MO, and Springfield, MO.
Moving to St. Charles, MO, in 1982, he served as the Director of Development for the Emmaus Homes. He then served as a director for the Seeds for Growth Campaign for the Mid-South Conference for the United Church of Christ, and he was Pastor Emeritus at St. John's Chapel U.C.C., Springfield, MO. After his retirement, he remained very active in the St. Charles F.I.S.H. program, provided pulpit supply for various UCC congregations and was a faithful volunteer at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles.
Reverend Dohm's ministry was one filled with much love as well as laughter. His love for God and his example of following Jesus Christ impacted many families and their lives during his lifetime.
