Rev. Walter Leon O’Neal

O'Neal, Rev. Walter Leon, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at the age of 90. Loving husband of Norma Jean O'Neal; beloved son of the late Walter Monroe and Dulcie Ann O'Neal; devoted father of Glenda (Maynard) Jones, Wayne Leon (Betty) O'Neal, and John Curtis (Mary) O'Neal; cherished grandfather of Angela (Bryan) Porter, Christopher Jones, Bob (Tanya) O'Neal, Thom (Carolyn) O'Neal, BreAnna (Micah) Fowler, Torina (Jeff) Anderson, and John O'Neal; treasured great-grandfather of Nicholas, Jackson, Elia, Tobias, Gabriel, Danielle, Donovan, Natalie, Justin, Jeffery, Katelyn, Kyle, Alicia, and Riley; dear brother of John O'Neal, Abe O'Neal, Jim O'Neal, Monnie (Kenny) Emerson, Sarah Milam, Peggy Vanover, and Barbara (Bill) Brock. He is preceded in death by his first wife Colista Maxcine O'Neal, his son LeRoy O'Neal, and his brother David Lee O'Neal.
Walter proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He was a pastor of the St. Charles Church of God for 35 years. Walter was retired from McDonnell Douglas. He was a past Chaplin for the St. Charles County Sherriff Department, and a member of the St. Charles County Sherriff Department Water and Rescue. Walter will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
