Dick proudly and honorably served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He attended Mizzou - University of Missouri in Columbia for his undergrad in business and also received his doctorate in law there as well. He worked as an attorney for Shelter Insurance and retired after more than 30 years with the company.
Dick loved to watch sports, but no other teams held a candle to his alma mater. He was the ultimate Mizzou sports fan, especially football, and he never missed watching a game.
As a strong man of faith, he was a devoted member of St. Robert's Bellarmine Catholic Church for 15 years. He dearly cared for his neighbors and friends. He also made sure to meet his fraternity brothers at least once a month for lunch, just so they could stay in touch.
Dick enjoyed the many years he spent with his wife. They usually went to the boat together for a little gambling and dinner afterwards. He always looked forward to spending time with family. Some of his favorite pastimes were playing Sudoku, Cryptoquips, and the Jumbles in the paper every morning. He loved his adorable greyhounds, Zoe and Shay. Dick was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Dick's name to
Five Acres Animal Shelter.
