Richard L. “Smitty” Smith

Richard L. Smith, of O Fallon, MO, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2022 at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Mary Smith; cherished son of the late Marlan and Madeline Smith; devoted father of Dennis (Linda) Smith, Richard (Debra) Smith and Kellie Smith; loving grandfather of seven; treasured great-grandfather of twelve; great-great grandfather of one; Richard is also preceded in death by his grandchildren Shawn Anthony Inness and Robin Nicole Smith and his sister Marlene Zinzel.

Richard proudly and honorably served in the United States Navy for four years and four years in the Reserves. He was a member of Gateway Riders Club. Richard worked for the St. Louis Post Dispatch as a printer for 25 years. He loved his BMW motorcycle and traveled all over the United States. Richard was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Richard's name to American Cancer Society.
