Richard Ramsey

Richard L. Ramsey, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023, at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Teresa "Terry" M. Ramsey; cherished son of the late Russell W. and Dora Ramsey. Brother to Jack (Evelyn) Ramsey, Carol (Charlie) Bourisaw, Sherri (late Tedd) Hansen, the late Sandy Lohmann, and the late Kenny Ramsey.  Devoted father of Mike (Lisa) Ramsey, Brenda (David) Hughes, Doug (Becky) Steinmeyer, and the late Laura Patrick; loving grandfather of Leah, Nick, Zach, David, Alexis, Spencer and Max. 

Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force and was an active member of VFW 2866. He dedicated many years of his life to McDonnell Douglas, eventually retiring from Boeing. In his leisure time, he found immense joy in a variety of activities, including golf, bowling, softball, and fishing.  

Finding true love, Richard and Terry were married for more than 40 years.  They shared every part of their lives, starting with their mutual love for sports but later including their blended family.  Together until the end, their love never wavered. 

Richard was the handiest of men.  There isn’t a corner of his home, or those of his friends and family, that he hasn’t repaired or improved.  Ever generous, Richard gave of his time, knowledge, and skills to anyone in need. 

Patience was a hallmark of Richard’s personality. Whether teaching his kids to throw a ball, drive a stick, or perform regular maintenance on a car, Richard was persistent and modeled perseverance.   

Care and respect for anyone he encountered was a guarantee.  Richard did for others with nothing but gratitude expected in return.  His greatest gift was showing that being true to one’s self will garner love and admiration with value more than money. 

Richard was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him.
