Richard “Rick” Donald Penner of Oklahoma City, OK, passed away at the age of 66 on Saturday, July 31, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Frank and Farrelee Nora Penner.
Rick is survived by his children, Nicholas “Nick” James (Analiza) Penner, Lacey Julianne (Nathan) Gaisford, and Travis Jared (Raveen) Penner; his grandchildren, Paejlyn Mae Penner, Beau Hustle Penner, Avery Gaisford, Te'Aumi Penner, Reagen Penner, A'Darius Penner, Ma’Kynleigh Penner, and Isaiah Penner; his sister, Anna Kay (the late Lonie) Garner; and his aunt, Frankie Mae Klonek. Rick was also a cousin and friend to many.
Rick was truly a world traveler, and nothing ever stood in his way of seeing the world and living new experiences. He had a passion for history and designated many trips to presidential libraries and to learning about world history, especially civil and world wars. He always looked forward to spending time with his family and the trips they took together. Rick was dedicated to his career as a sports official and loved the work he did. His generosity and willingness to help made him a source of strength for his friends and loved ones. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
