Richard S. Berhorst, of Warrenton, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at the age of 94. Loving husband of the late Helen C. Berhorst; beloved son of the late Stephen A. and Marie Berhorst; devoted father of Mary (Kevin) Linebaugh and Lisa (Andy) Freeman; cherished grandfather of Matthew (Heather) Linebaugh, Daniel (Lauren) Linebaugh, M.S.G.T. Robert Linebaugh, John (Megan) Cassidy, Kevin (Heather Hoffman) Linebaugh, Craig Linebaugh, and Bryan Freeman; treasured great-grandfather of Matthew (Dezerae Chaffin), Ethan, Keegan, Brogan, Brianna, Oli, Isla, Kenlee, Anja, and Shawnee; caring great-great grandfather of Layla and Stella; dear brother of Rose (the late Pete) Harris, and Stephen (Joyce) Berhorst. Richard is also preceded in death by his granddaughter, Shawnee Christine Linebaugh; and his siblings, Theresa Berhorst, Eddie Berhorst and James Berhorst.
Richard proudly and honorably served in the United States Army. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11382, and the 50 Plus Club. Richard married to his best friend, Helen and were together for 52 years. He was proud to be a husband and father, but he cherished his title as Grandpa and Super Grandpa. Richard was a talented woodworker He liked building things such as bookcases, baby cradles, and even constructed a deck. Richard was a devout catholic throughout his life. His faith in God was a very important part of his life. Richard was a light in life, always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone he met. He was a child at heart and had the best sense of humor. Richard had the most giving and gentle heart. He was a rock for his family to lean on. Richard will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
