Richard D. "Rick" Sabbert

Richard D. “Rick” Sabbert, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023 at the age of 73. Loving husband of Sheri S. Sabbert; beloved son of the late Marvin and Bertha Sabbert; devoted father of Amy Nissing, Jenifer (Wes) Jenkins, Ryan Sabbert, and Joshua Sabbert; dear brother of Judith K. (Dennis Holler) Sabbert, and Bernard (Angela) Sabbert; cherished brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin, and friend. Richard is also preceded in death by his brother, Douglas Sabbert.

Richard practiced law in St. Charles for 45 years and served as a lay pastor for churches in the greater St. Louis area. He was a devoted member of Ministry to Men and cherished his experience traveling to Mexico for mission trips. In his retirement, he enjoyed photography - particularly landscapes and nature - and was even awarded for his talent.

He spent many days and nights participating in various activities and groups at Dardenne Presbyterian Church - one of his favorites being performing in plays with The Fellowship Players.

Rick cherished time spent with his parents, siblings, and all of their families on trips to their cabin at The Lake of the Ozarks - where he loved to tow water skiers and tubers behind their shared boat.

He adored his little chihuahua, Munchkin, a dog who spent a majority of his time by Rick’s side in later years. Richard was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family in Florida - particularly at “The Most Magical Place on Earth,” Walt Disney World.

He will be missed dearly.

Memorials may be made in Richard's name to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
