Rick Westerhold, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at the age of 65. Loving husband of Michele Brady; beloved son of the late Harold and Marjorie Westerhold; devoted father of Melinda (Dustin Neff) Westerhold, Daryl (Kristin) Westerhold, and Emma Westerhold, and step-father of Tim (Samantha) Brady, Jr., and James Brady; cherished grandfather of Marie Westerhold, Julian Westerhold, Skarlett Brady, and Jamisen Brady; dear brother of Debbie (David) Anderson, Sherri (John) Combs, Jeffrey (Dayna) Westerhold, and Scott (April) Westerhold. He is also survived by loving nieces and nephews.
Rick was a longtime member of Victory Church of St. Charles where he served as the audio-visual technician, a member of the Gateway Harmonica Club, and member of the NRA.
In his younger years, he lettered in high school golf. He then played “weekend warrior” flag football with the Blue Flames and slow pitch softball on various teams including Blue Flames and Lads & Lasses, which his nickname was “Rodney,” because he got no respect.
He was a true music lover. He loved country music and taught and loved to line dance. He enjoyed playing the harmonica, organ and the banjo. After his first bout with stage IV cancer, he gave generously of his time as a volunteer at St. Luke's Hospital as a Care Assistant, and since his retirement, Rick and his wife hosted foreign exchange students from France, Italy, Germany, and Spain. Recently, he had kept himself occupied playing games on his phone and making new friends. He was a devoted St. Louis sports fan and loved watching Cardinals baseball and Blues hockey. His greatest joy, however, was his time spent with his beloved grandchildren. Rick was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
