Rita Sponamore

Sponamore, Rita M. (nee Hoene) passed away September 12th after a long life and a relatively short decline. Devoted wife of the late Bob Sponamore, loving mother of Anne Armstrong (Mark) and caring step-mother to Stacey Brown, Robert Sponamore, Sheryl Wimberly, and the late Rodney Sponamore. Enthusiastic grandmother to John Armstrong (Marlee), Mary Claire Meszaros (Mike), Lizzie Armstrong, the late Cory Brown and Cara Smith (Erich), nurturing great-grandmother to Brooke and Morgan Armstrong and Kaiya and Kalea Smith. 

Rita generously gave twenty-seven years of her professional life to teaching at Benton School in St. Charles, a vocation about which she was truly passionate. Her life was marked by an infinite love for people, a rich spiritual life, and an endless supply of gratitude for all God’s blessings.

On Friday, September 27th, the wake/visitation at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Church - 1355 Motherhead Rd, Cottleville in the church gathering area followed by a Mass at 11:00. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Catholic Charities.
