Robert A. “Bob” Luckey, of Augusta, Missouri, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020 at the age of 84. Loving husband of 51 years to Carol Luckey; beloved son of the late Paul David, Sr., and Olive Luckey; devoted father of Clifford Luckey, Dana Luckey, and Laurel Luckey; cherished grandfather of Brittany Luckey, Terilyn Luckey, David Luckey, Damian Smith, Lilliana Sontag; and treasured great grandfather of Easton, Eileen, and Krystal; dear brother of the late Paul David Luckey, Jr., and the late Kenneth Luckey.
Bob retired after more than 40 years as an engineer with McDonnell Douglas and Boeing. Upon retirement he was able to travel more with his wife and friends. They enjoyed traveling all over the United States and many other parts of the world including Australia, Europe, and even the Antarctic. As a member of the St. Louis Chess Center, he looked forward to a good challenging game of chess. He also enjoyed playing bridge and was a member of American Contract Bridge League.
As a native to the Pittsburgh area, Bob was always a huge fan of the Pittburgh Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. However, he quickly became a St. Louis Cardinals fan, but would get decked out in his Pittsburgh Pirates gear when they came to town!
Bob liked the outdoors and swimming, hiking and traveling. He was a Boy Scouts Leader and coached baseball and football for his son’s teams. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's name to Carnegie Mellon University or St. Luke's Hospice.
