Robert A. “Bob” West, Sr., of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021, at the age of 88. Loving husband of the late Marcia Lois West; beloved son of the late Walter West and Helen Cora Carr; devoted father of Robert “Bobby” West, Jr.; dearest brother of Beverly (the late Ed) Swain, Michelle (Timothy, Sr.) Sargent, and the late Gary West; and dear uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
Bob worked for Rexall Drug Company and retired after more than 35 years. He was a resourceful employee and worked in many areas of the company, including the warehouse, parcel post supervisor, and dock foreman.
Bob was a wonderful family man, and family was most important to him. He always loved spending time with his family, no matter what they were doing. He loved to go on road trips with his wife and take cross country adventures to California to see the Rockies, as well as spending time with his uncle and other family. He also liked to just hop in the car and take a good ole Sunday drive. As much as Bob was a family man, he also adored his dogs very much.
As an outdoorsman, Bob loved being outside and he enjoyed fishing, camping, and anything else he could do with his family. He was a Scout leader for his son's Boy Scout den, and he always looked forward to the jamborees.
Bob was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, and he always enjoyed going to their games in his younger years with his buddies. He also liked watching their games on TV, and he loved Stan Musial, as well as many other players from the 40s, 50s, and 60s era baseball.
Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Memorial contributions may be made in Bob’s name to
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
