Robert A. “Bob” Blattman, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of Carolyn L. Blattman; cherished son of the late John "JB" William and Dolly Rose Blattman. Devoted father of Nora L. (Peter) Tsahiridis, Glen A. Blattman, and Sharon Blattman Mitchell; loving grandfather of Ashley (Glenn) Larson, George Tsahiridis, Abby Mitchell, and Hannah Mitchell; treasured great-grandfather of Wesley Larson; dear brother of Janice Blattman (Dennis) Harry, Bonnie Rose Bury-Blattman; beloved uncle, cousin, and friend of many. Preceded in death by brother, Jack Blattman.
Bob proudly served in the United States Navy as a Radioman First Class, where he worked on the pioneering "ship to shore" satellite communication in London, England. He was a network/communications engineer for over 40 years with the Navy, Southwestern Bell, McDonnell Douglas, IBM, and Boeing. Bob was an active member of The Little Hills Toastmasters, serving as Governor, establishing numerous Toastmaster clubs, and earning multiple public speaking awards. Additionally, Bob volunteered for the St. Charles Historical Society and was a dedicated member of Trinity Episcopal Church in St. Charles, MO.
Bob was a very gifted storyteller. He shared his stories with friends and family alike. He will be remembered for his smile, contagious laugh and humor. His favorite time of day was morning, he enjoyed a good breakfast and having his coffee on the porch enjoying the sunrise and the beautiful world around him. He enjoyed traveling, taking cruises, and many walks with Carolyn, his loving wife of 59 years. He loved listening to Carolyn play the piano. One of his favorite places to visit was Gatlinburg, TN. Bob enjoyed playing cards and board games, the St. Louis Cardinals, but most of all, togetherness of his family. He was a devoted son, husband, father, and grandfather. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
