Robert “Bob” Daniel Beck

Robert “Bob” Daniel Beck, of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Vicki Beck; cherished son of Angeline Beck and the late Daniel Beck. Devoted father of Laurie (Sean) Leary, loving grandfather of Owen and Rose Leary; dear brother of Carol (James) Morgan, David (Barbara) Beck, Philip (Debbie) Beck; and is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bob loved being outside.  He spent much of his time gardening in his yard at home, fishing, or with family and friends at their pool.  Although he didn’t choose the destinations or make the travel plans, Bob always enjoyed his trips with Vicki at his side.  Whether it was Alaska, Yellowstone National Park, or Aruba, he loved being in new places, just as much as the comfort of familiar places like Table Rock Lake and Sam A. Baker State Park.  He loved to fish, and took pride in teaching others, especially his son-in-law and grandkids.  He could filet a fish better than his brothers without a doubt.

Bob never met a stranger.  Bob loved hosting parties for all and most especially with family members and their friends. When he welcomed visitors to his home, they never left empty-handed. Bob was known to always send guests with vegetables from his garden, pickles he had made, or other goodies he wanted them to have. He made the best BBQ pork steaks. The Fourth of July was his favorite holiday, and it was his most notorious hosting event of the year.  Bob loved the excitement of the fireworks, grilling for guests, and having fun poolside.

Bob was a machinist, working for Lever Brothers for years and then retiring from GlaxoSmithKline.

His most special memories were made while spending time with his grandchildren. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Bob’s name to St. Jude's, as he didn’t want any kids to have to go through what he did with cancer.
