Robert “Bob” J. Bodley, Jr. of Saint Charles, MO, passed away at the age of 68 on Friday, July 26, 2019. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Diana Bodley; his son, Robert “Rob” (Gretchen) Bodley, III; his grandchildren, Collin, Nolan, and Bailee; and his other relatives and dear friends. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Robert John Bodley, Sr. and Inez Bodley.
Robert honorably served his country in the Navy aboard the USS Worden DLG-18 as a Hull Technician, 3
rd Class, in the Vietnam War. Bob had the distinction of being a life member of the St. Charles VFW Post #5036.
Bob went on to work for the Community Fire Protection District for fifteen years, eventually working his way up to Battalion Chief. Following his firefighting career, Bob was a building inspector for St. Charles County. He retired from his position as Chief Code Official for Town and Country in 2011 after a very successful career. Bob served as President of the Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors (MABOI) in 2004 where there now is a scholarship in his name. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed playing a round of golf, spending time with his grandchildren and making memories with his family. He will be dearly missed.
