Robert “Bob” L. McGough of Saint Charles, MO, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018, at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Mildred McGough for 59 years; cherished son of the late Leslie and Lena McGough; devoted father of Mike (Nancy) McGough and Bobbie (Dave) Wollbrinck; loving grandfather of Carrie (Ryan) Brown, Daniel McGough, Michelle (Tony) Miller, Lyndi (Evan) Martoia, and Kevin Wollbrinck; treasured great-grandfather of five; and also survived by a sister Donna Sneed. Bob was also preceded in death by his brother Bill McGough.

Bob proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He was awarded four bronze stars and presented with a Good Conduct Medal as well as multiple lapel buttons, service bars, and a Victory Ribbon. Bob had worked a 38 year career on the Terminal Railroad Association of St Louis, retiring in 1986 as a locomotive engineer. As an active and hardworking family man, Bob instilled traditions into his family as well as shared his faith. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and First Baptist Church of Harvester. He was a proud holder of his private pilot’s license and enjoyed playing the guitar and harmonica. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
