Robert “Bob” Schaefer

Robert Mac Schaefer, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020 at the age of 90. Loving husband of the late Marilyn Ruth Schaefer; beloved son of the late Martin Joseph and Anna Schaefer; devoted father of Diane (Douglas) Follmer, Kathy (Gregory) Hakenewerth, Michael (Patricia) Schaefer, David (Patty) Schaefer, Richard (Debbie) Schaefer, Laura (Rodney) Franey, and Gregory (Amiee) Schaefer; cherished grandfather of Michelle, Brianna (Patrick), Alex, Jenna, Katherine, Phillip (Lindsay), Daniel (Katherine), Joseph, Thomas, Matthew (Emma), Keith, Jacob (Mary Bridget), Ryan, Jennifer, Preonda, and Johnathon; treasured great-grandfather of Caiden, Grayson, Royce, Roxanne, Teagan, Tippen, Rowan, Emme, Logan, Mac, Kezlin, and Zayde; dear brother of Alma York and Peggy Dyer. Robert is preceded in death by his grandson Brian.

Robert was a devout Catholic and was a proud Member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church.  He attended 30 Catholic retreats at the White House Jesuit Retreat Center, and was a third degree Knight with The Knights of Columbus.  Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marines. He was a member of the American Legion through Jefferson City. He liked traveling and was a scout leader for 22 years. Robert was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in remembrance of Robert and Marilyn Schaefer to the Alzheimer's Association.
