Robert “Bob” Spooner

Spooner, Robert, of Saint Charles, MO, died on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the age of 94.
Loving husband of Betty Jo Spooner (nee: Raines); beloved son of the late Bernie E. Spooner and Ruby Drummond-Spooner; devoted father of Anita (Mel) Henderson, Margaret (Russ) Fink, Linda (John) Ayres and Sallie (Steve) Feldewert; cherished grandfather of 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. Robert is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, James Alden and Wilbur Emmett.
Robert was born on November 25, 1922 in Paducah, KY. He proudly served his country as a tail-gunner on a B24 in the European theater of operations in the United States Army Air Corps. He married the love of his life, Betty, and they spent 71 wonderful years together. He spent most of his working career as a self-employed mechanic, working on many airplanes and helicopters. He had a true passion for aviation. Robert will be remembered as a fun and family-oriented man. He adored the time spent with his children on their frequent Sunday drives together. Robert was loved deeply and will be missed dearly by the many lives he touched.
