Robert “Bob” W. Gerdes, Sr.

Robert “Bob” W. Gerdes, Sr. of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at the age of 86. Loving husband of June S. Gerdes; beloved son of the late Edward W. and Ethel B. Gerdes; devoted father of Robert W. (Sandra) Gerdes, Jr., Dale R. (Edith) Gerdes, Linda S. (Wesley) Webb, and Kim (Steve) Blackmore; cherished grandfather of 10, great-grandfather of 13, and great-great grandfather of 5. Bob was preceded in death by his brothers, John (Nancy) Gerdes, Charles (Janet) Gerdes; sisters, Ruth (Danny) Young, Bonnie Gerdes, and Hilda (Lloyd) Aikens.

Bob married the love of his life and best friend, June, and were together for 65 years. Bob was most proud to wear the title of Grandpa, he adored every one of his many grandkids, great-grandkids, and great great-grandkids. He loved his two Sheltie dogs, Callie and Dusty.

Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of Chapel of the Cross Lutheran Church and was a devout Christian. Bob loved sports and fishing. He was an avid Cardinals fan and could be found in the stands cheering on the Cards with family and friends. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Memorials may be made in Robert's name to Greater St. Louis Honor Flight.
