Robert “Bob” Wesley Holscher

April 13, 1940 — September 22, 2021

Robert “Bob” Wesley Holscher of St. Peters, Missouri passed away peacefully at home with his family at his side on September 22, 2021.  He was born in Winner, SD on April 13, 1940, to the late Neil Holscher and Clara Holscher Taylor (nee Schmidt) and moved to St. Louis in 1948.  He is survived by his wife Donna (nee Cowgill) Holscher, son Greg (Cindy) Holscher, daughter Gail (Brian) Perkins, and grandchildren Claire, Kate, Luke, Sara, Maddie and Adam.

He graduated from Normandy High School and attended Washington University.  Bob started his career at Emerson Electric and then moved to McDonnell Douglas (now Boeing) where he worked for 35 years before retiring in 1997.  During tax season Bob worked for H&R Block as a tax preparer.

He first met Donna in 1958 but they didn’t start dating until 1961.  Their first date was to the local bowling alley and they never expected this to be the beginning of a lifelong romance.  Their attraction was immediate and that led to them getting married the very next year on February 23, 1962.  Bob grew up in St. Louis County and they bought their first home in Florissant in 1965, where they started their family, and where he commuted to work in St. Charles.  In 1978 they moved to St. Peters where he and Donna finished raising their family.

For those who knew Bob, you always knew that family came first.  He loved being a husband and his love for Donna never wavered throughout their 59 years of marriage.  He loved being a father to their 2 kids and a grandfather to their 6 grandkids.  He coached his kids’ sports teams and attended their other outside activities.  Some of his favorite memories were from spending time with his family and close friends on weekend camping trips.  Bob loved decorating for Halloween, turning his house and yard into a virtual display.  His annual Mexican Party filled his house and driveway with friends and neighbors.  He loved to travel, and often took trips with family and friends.  And he really loved his place at the Lake of the Ozarks where he would be found sitting in his swing during the day and enjoying a good campfire at night while eating peanuts and drinking cheap pink champagne with friends.

Bob was a member of the Pride of the West Masonic Lodge, Moolah Shriners, Daniel Boone Shrine Club, Moolah Shrine Clowns, Yomo, and Gateway 500.  He was honored as an Aide Emeritus, an Ambassador for Moolah Temple, and an OKET in the Order of the Quetzalcoatl.  He was well known as “Bob-O the Clown” and performed at the Shriners Circus, parties, holiday events, schools, and anywhere else he could entertain kids.  Bob was the ultimate Shriner and supported the Shriners Hospital for Children because he loved the work that Shriners do for kids.
