Robert E. Kimpling

Beloved husband (50 years) of Jean Kimpling(nee: Buehrle); , dear father of Robert A. (Peggy) Kimpling and Richard W. (Carol) Kimpling of Georgia; loving grandfather of Ross, Ian, Anna and Ally; dear brother of Lenore (Clare) Schlack of Albuquerque and the late Betty Lou Kimpling; dear Brother-in-Law of Bill (Marion) Buehrle of Connecticut and Betty (Frank) Stanton. Uncle, cousin and friend to many. Robert (Bob) graduated from Washington University with BS and MA in health and physical education. After serving in the armed forces Dec. 7, 1954 – Sept. 1956, he began his 30-year teaching career in the Ferguson-Florissant School District. He taught in several elementary schools, Ferguson Junior High School (where he coached basketball 10 years), and then finished his career at McCluer North High School. Bob enjoyed golf, riding the Katy Trail and square dancing with the Wrights and Lefts Square Dance Club until he lost the use of his legs due to prostate cancer. His hand-controlled golf cart gave him some freedom and mobility until recently. His long battle against cancer was an inspiration to all who knew him.
