Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Horton, Robert Grant (Bob), of Wentzville, Missouri, died on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the age of 84. Dear husband of Virginia Horton (nee: Skaggs), dear son of the late Forest C. and May Horton; devoted father of Cindy (Ken) Lange, Judy (Greg) Daniel and Craig (Cheri) Horton; beloved grandfather of Daniel (Krystal) Lange, Glenna Lange, Joshua Lange, Mariah Lange, Zachary Horton, Sam Lange, Alec Daniel, Jeremiah Lange, Bailey Horton, Kylie Daniel and Andrew Horton; great-grandfather of Evan Lange and Jacob Lange; dear brother of Jane Christian, Audrey Custer, Joyce Glassey, Nelva Stenger and the late Rolland Horton and Ruth Mace. Bob was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. His hobbies include geology and he was an avid rock collector. He loved the outdoors, hiking, camping, attending St. Louis Cardinals baseball games and spending time with his family. During past years, Bob was a Boy Scout leader and a member of SAGES. He was also a member of the Merchant Marines before serving in the Army as a Cpl. While in the Army, Bob received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Bronze Combat Stars and the United Nations Service Medal. He was assigned to the 2nd Engineer Construction Group. Bob was a graduate of Washington University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and minors in Geology and Mathematics. He started working for McDonnell Douglas as an inspector and retired as Manager Quality Audit after 37 years.
