Breig, Robert Harlan passed away peacefully on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the age of 84. He is preceded in death by his wife Ruth A. (nee Stuhlmann) Breig, parents Albert E. and Gladys M. (nee Harlan) Breig, and sister Bonita M. (nee Breig) Meers. His survivors include children Denise A. (nee Breig) Jenkins, Robert C. Breig, and stepson Robert E. Cowell; sister-in-law Carol A. (David) Jones; grandchildren Evan, Megan, Ethan, Brittany (Daniel), Michael, Stephen, and Ellis; great-grandchildren Jayden, Emerson, and Kennedy; dear cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and friend to many. He was special friend of the late Edith Virginia “Ginny” (nee Risley) Richardson, mother of their two wonderful children. He graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School in 1951 and served in the United States Marine Corps as Lance Corporal from 1952-1954. He retired as US Navy civilian in 1989 as aircraft inspector at McDonnell-Douglas Corporation. He was thirty-second degree Mason, member of the Scottish Rite, and Moolah Shrine Guide’s Unit. At the time of his death he was a faithful member of St. John United Church of Christ in St. Charles, MO; member of the Korean War Veterans Association; avid golfer, bowler, and horseshoe pitcher.
