Robert J. “Bob” Bredensteiner

January 12, 1943 — November 22, 2011

Robert J. "Bob" Bredensteiner, of St. Charles, Missouri, died on Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the age of 68. He was the loving husband of Joyce Bredensteiner (NÉE: Davis); beloved son of the late Charles and Gertrude Bredensteiner; devoted father of Robert J. (Melissa) Bredensteiner, Jr., Beverly (Robert) Floyd, Lori (Craig) White and Patti (Ray) Alexander; cherished grandfather of Hayley, Jeffrey, Brendan, Garrick, Trey, Jackson, Hannah, Bradley, Gracie, Owen and Maria; dear brother of Barb (the late Jerry) Hollander and Kay Bredensteiner; and brother-in-law of Janet (Bob) Gerhart, Al Wetter and Janet Bredensteiner. He is preceded in death by his three brothers, Charlie Bredensteiner, Dave Bredensteiner and Donnie Bredensteiner; a sister, Mary Ann Wetter; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Bredensteiner. Bob felt extremely blessed to have been married to his wife, Joycee, for the last 43 years. He recently told his children that she was the kindest, most loving and compassionate woman he had ever met. Bob was very proud of his children and loved each of them very much. He also loved and adored each one of his grandchildren who each had their own special relationship with Papa. Bob was a very hardworking man who enjoyed his profession as a truck driver for over 35 years. He also more recently enjoyed driving a school bus for children with special needs. Bob was very involved in the AA program in St. Charles. He really believed in this program and since it had such a positive impact on him, he was able to help others with their recovery too. Bob had recently celebrated 19 years of sobriety. Bob truly enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved nature and he loved being outside, regardless of whether that meant working around the house, in the yard or going fishing! Bob believed in justice - what was right, was right. He was a man of faith and spent time seeking God every day. His favorite Christmas song was Silent Night, and last but not least, he always had candy for his grandchildren! Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or St. Augustine Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
