Devoted husband of Susan Burckhardt; dear son of the late Henry and the late Stella Burckhardt; loving father of Ryan Burckhardt, Rodney Burckhardt, Laura (Aaron) Schaper, Michelle (Chris) Baran and Sarah (John) Berra; cherished grandfather of Jordan Gross, Brandon Burckhardt, Alex Schaper, Ethan Schaper, Madison Schaper and Caden Berra; dear brother of Alan (Smokie) Burckhardt; dear friend to Jim (Karen) Broeker; beloved uncle, cousin, and friend to many. He worked as a Painter for the Painters District #2 in St. Louis, Missouri, and was a member of the Eagles, enjoyed fishing, gardening, cooking and building bird houses.
