Robert James Aldag

Robert James Aldag, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017, at the age of 89.  Loving husband of 57 years to Betty Jane Aldag; beloved son of the late John Henry and Hazel-Dell Aldag; devoted father of Kenneth (Karen) Aldag, and Richard Aldag; cherished grandfather of Amy (Martin Simpson) Jones and Jason Aldag; dearest brother of David Brewer (Anne) Aldag and Katherine Hoard.  Robert is preceded in death by his brother, John H. Aldag, Jr.; and sister, Mari-Dell White.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Marines Corp during WWII.  He retired after more than 20 years with NW/Delta Airlines as an advertising manager.  He sang in a barbershop quartet and on the Golden Rod Showboat in St. Louis.  Robert had a great passion for art and he created beautiful paintings for his family to enjoy.  He also enjoyed woodworking, and handcrafted many of their unique pieces of furniture.  He loved traveling with his wife and they spent many vacations seeing the world together.  Robert was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
