Robert James Starr

Starr, Robert James of Saint Charles, Missouri, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2018, at the age of 87 Years.

Beloved husband of 54 loving years to Letitia J. Starr (nee Hindman); devoted father of Susan Starr, Robert J (Cindy Epperson) Starr, II, Ann E. Starr and Andrew (Christene) Starr.  Loving Grandfather of nine, and Great-Grandfather of four.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents George W. L. and Loretta Starr.

Bob served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Korean War.  He held a Doctor of Education from University of Missouri-Columbia and taught high school Biology for several years, later in his career he taught Graduate Studies, including 15 years at UMSL.  He loved spending time with young people and teaching was his passion along with coaching youth baseball.  He retired from teaching after 44 years.  Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially grandchildren.  He like doing crossword puzzles and working outside in the yard. Bob was very proud of his children and grandchildren and their accomplishments.  His favorite time of year was when the family gathered at Christmas time and watching all the Christmas movies.  His favorite show was "It's a Wonderful Life". Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
