Bob was born in Graham, N.C., to Ernest and Evie C. Marshall. Those who opposed him on the football field at Elon College knew him as 'Tank'. After service in the Air Force during the Korean War, he accepted a job with Ozark Airlines in Chicago. There he met the love of his life, Toni. Soon he was transferred to St. Louis, and they settled in St. Peters to raise their family. Always a farm boy at heart, Bob loved gardening and sharing his harvest. He was a southern gentleman who had a kind word for everyone he met. Bob and Toni celebrated their 50th anniversary on October 25, 2014.
Bob was preceded in death by his son, Billy. His wife Toni, his daughter Bobbi (and Kal), his son Sam (and Jamie), and his grandchildren Sophia, Griffin, Grace and Aslyn will continue living life according to the values and wisdom he taught them.
Visitation will be held at Baue Funeral Home at Cave Springs on Monday, December 1, 2014 at 4:00-7:00 PM. We will celebrate his life with a mass at All Saints Church on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 at 10:00 AM. Bob will be buried next to his son at St. Charles Memorial Gardens. He grew more than his share of beautiful flowers and plants in life, and wished that in lieu of flowers, contributions would be sent to the All Saints Building Fund to restore the stained glass windows that brought him so much joy.
