Robert O. Ponte

Robert O. Ponte of O’Fallon, MO, passed away at the age of 88 on Sunday, October 4, 2020. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doreen Francis Ponte; his two sons, Joel Wolter and Patrick Vadnais; and his parents, Oliver and Esther Ponte.

Robert is survived by his children, Mark (Carol) Ponte, Michael (Denise) Ponte, Beth (Mike) Shupe, Jean Johnson, Christine Vadnais, and David (Brenda Earney) Vadnais; his grandchildren, Gabrielle Ponte, Logan Ponte, Brittany Simmons, Steven Cunningham Jr., Dustin Johnson, Kristopher (Marcie) Vadnais, Jonathan Vadnais, Stephanie Wolter, and Darcey Allison; and his great-grandchildren, Jayce Arthur, Jeseney Vadnais, Mackenzie Vadnais, Abigail Vadnais, Kameron Vadnais, and Christopher Robyn.

Robert loved every moment he spent with his wife, Doreen, and treasured all the adventures they had traveling as well as all the nights they danced together. On May 21, 2017, Robert took on the thrill of skydiving with his children for a truly unforgettable experience. This fascination with the sky extended to one of Robert’s favorite hobbies – building and flying large, remote control airplanes which he engineered from scratch. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
