Robert “Bob” E. Zingaro died peacefully in his home in St. Peter’s MO on October 29, 2020.
He is the beloved son of the late Nicholas and Janet Zingaro; devoted father of John A. Zingaro of Chicago, IL and Dawn (Marck) Bloemers of Tacoma, WA; cherished grandfather of Luke and Robert Boemers; dear brother of R. Nicholas Zingaro of Goshen, NY and Zelinda Zingaro of Castro Valley, CA. He is also survived by his nephew Joseph Zingaro of Savannah GA and many other relatives and friends around the country.
Bob was born in New York and moved to Chicago with his family when he was young, He graduated high school and then honorably served in the United States Army. Robert returned to Chicago to work at O’Hare Airport for TWA as a customer service agent. It was this career that brought him to St. Louis where he was a fixture of the TWA and American C concourse for over 20 years. He was well known and loved by many travelers. He retired from his service with TWA/American after 44 years.
Bob had many passions in life, and among them was Operation Lift Off, a charity that helps provide “wish” vacations for critically ill children. He was able to organize golf tournaments for the organization for many years. He also was an active member of the Ethical Society Mid-Rivers. He was known as a kind and loving man always helping those who were in need.
Bob’s wish to continue to help others extended beyond his death, as per his wishes his body has been donated to science and no services will be held.
