Rodney D. Sterkel, of St. Peters, MO, died on Friday, September 23, 2016, at the age of 63. Loving husband of Vivian Sterkel; beloved son of the late Conrad and Anna Sterkel; devoted father of Jennifer (Jaime) Diaz, Sarah (Steve) Barteau, and Laura Uelk; cherished grandfather of Robert Diaz, Katlyn Diaz, Kolby Uelk, Addison Barteau, Kylie Hart, Payton Barteau, and Kamden Uelk; treasured great-grandfather of Mason Diaz; dear brother of Robert (Patsy) Sterkel and Bonnie (the late Gary) Volner; and also survived by his beloved dog, Diesel. He is preceded in death by his siblings Leroy Sterkel and Marilyn Brixius.
Rodney was a member of Life Gate Church in St. Peters, and he loved to worship the Lord. He cherished spending time with his family, and enjoyed family camping trips and outdoor adventures. He never met a stranger, and loved telling stories and jokes to everyone. Rodney was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
