Roger L. Parrott

PARROTT, Dr. Roger L., Calverton Park, MO, February 20, 2005 age 77; Beloved by: Joanne (nee: Stansfield) his wife of 53 years; children, Dennis (Zora), Nancy Turner (Carl), David (Ruth) and the late Beth Kaiser; extended family members Jim and Michelle Kaiser; Endeared “Pops” by his grandchildren, sister Delores Cantlon and other relatives; he was a friend to many. Dr. Parrott served as Secretary-Treasurer of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, 1969-73, 1979-82 and 1993-97; was President of the North District Dental Society, President of the St. Louis Society of Dental Science; President of the Missouri Unit of the American Society of Dentistry for Children and was Missouri Delegate to the American Dental Association numerous times. In addition, Dr. Parrott was a Lifetime Member, American Dental Association; fellow of International College of Dentists and fellow of the American College of Dentists. In 1984, Dr. Parrott was honored with the Greater St. Louis Dental Society Gold Medal Award for Service to Dentistry; in 1995; the GSLDS Board Member of the Year Award and in 1993, was named Distinguished Alumnus of Washington University Dental School. He was also a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. As a charter member of the Foundation of the Greater St. Louis Dental Society, the Dental Health Theatre was established and he has been an active member of the Dental Health Theatre Board. Dr. Parrott was also Treasurer and member of the Administrative Board of St. John’s Methodist Church, St. Louis and previously on the Finance Committee of First United Methodist Church, St. Charles, where he was presently a member. There will be a Celebration of Life Services, Thursday 3:00PM, First United Methodist Church, 801 First Capitol. A reception by the family at the church immediately following the service. Interment Jefferson Barracks Nat'l Cemetery St. Louis MO 1:45PM Friday February 25, 2005.
