Ronald Earl Forquer

Ronald Earl Forquer, 79, passed away in McAllen, Texas, on Saturday, December 7, 2013, with his wife of 24 years, Rose, by his side.
Ronald was born February 7, 1934, in Bullion, Missouri, to Allen and Edith Forquer. He graduated from Kirksville Senior High School in 1952, served in the U.S. Army, and graduated from the University of Wichita in 1963 with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. He began his professional career at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kansas, and spent the remainder of his career with the McDonnell Douglas Aircraft Company in St. Louis, Missouri, primarily working in the aerospace program and retiring in 1995 after 32 1/2 years.
In 1958, Ron married Marilyn (Strait) Forquer (d. 1988) and raised five children in St. Charles, Missouri. Ron enjoyed gardening, automotive work, and woodwork, and spent many hours fixing up houses and preparing them to rent. After Marilyn's death, Ron met Rose Dannegger and they married in 1989, blending a family of nine children in the process. After spending many winters in Texas, Ron and Rose then permanently moved to Mission, Texas, in 2007 for retirement year-round; where Ron enjoyed travel, singing in his church choir, and generously volunteering for numerous organizations including the Mission Regional Medical Center in Mission, Texas.
Ron was especially fond of his work with The P.E.T. Project, an organization that makes hand-crank wheelchairs for mobility-impaired people in third-world countries. Ron was also a man of strong faith andwas heavily involved with the First United Methodist Church in Mission, Texas, helping with the food pantry, Dinner with Friends, and serving on many other church committees.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marilyn; his son, David Forquer; and two sisters, Marilyn Benney and Carol Tudor. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Forquer; brothers, Fred Forquer and Randy Forquer; children, Daniel Forquer, Susan (Forquer) Gupta, Dennis Forquer, Sally (Forquer) Kingston, David Dannegger, Lisa (Dannegger) Marin, Greg Dannegger, and Brian Dannegger; their spouses; 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
