Ronald Edgar Pemberton, of O’Fallon, MO passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at the age of 83. Beloved husband of Barbara Pemberton; cherished son of Edgar and Ivy Pemberton; devoted father of Trudi (Joel) Kane, Stephen (Catherine) Pemberton, Tina (Bret) Byus, Tracy (Andrew) Thompson, and Heather (James) Wright; loving grandfather of: Chris (Grace) Byus, Tanya (Matthew) Niewedde, Scott (Jensen) Byus, Megan Pemberton, Kelsey Wright, Tiffany (Colin ) McMahan, Johnathan Thompson, Elizabeth Pemberton, Rachel Thompson; beloved great-grandfather of: Ella Byus, Emma Niewedde, Rosalie Byus, Colton Niewedde, and Lydia Byus; dear brother of Iris (Hillary) Johnston, Barbara Donald and the late Eric (Patricia) Pemberton; brother-in-law of John Portman and the late Jeannette Portman. Ron is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Ron loved the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1995. As his faith grew, he was baptized in the River Jordan the following year. He and Barbara have attended First Baptist Church of O’Fallon for many years. Most important to Ron was spending time with his family. Ron was an avid outdoorsman and shared that love with his family, camping, boating, and hiking often. He loved to travel the world, especially to Jamaica with Barbara, and they lived in several different countries through his career before making their home in St. Charles County.
Ron was a Boy Scout Leader for 23 years and he also served as a Commissioner. He was in the Boy Scout Order of the Arrow and was awarded the Silver Beaver Award for Leadership. He sponsored children in Compassion International, was a local Ombudsman and worked with Meals on Wheels. Ron retired from McDonnell Douglas where he earned The Aerospace Leadership Award. He was the F15I computer systems lead Tech Rep. to the Israeli Air Force.
Ronald was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
