Ronald Jack Rutledge, of O'Fallon, MO passed away on Friday, Jan. 10th, 2025, at the age of 87. He was a loving and devoted husband of the late Judith Rutledge; cherished son of the late Francis and Helen Rutledge; loving and devoted father of Lori (Mike) Wehmeier, Todd Rutledge, Paul (Rita) Rutledge, Deborah (Bill) Collier, and cherished grandfather of Nichole Royer, Katie Wilcox, Michael Wehmeier, Brett Rutledge, Kayla Rutledge, Tyler Rutledge, Troy Rutledge, Amanda Starnes, Jennifer Smith, Melissa Barebo, and cherished great grandfather of Madison, Morgan, Andrew, Braeden, Chase, Ryan, and Cole; dear brother of Ken Rutledge and Carole Nemath. Ron was preceded in death by his beloved great-granddaughter Morgan.
Ronald honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He was a life-long member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and served as elder and usher for many years and was devoted to his faith. Ron was retired from Monsanto and Memc where he worked as an electrician for many years. Ron was a devoted husband to his wife Judy, they were married for 63 years and raised four children. Ron loved and cherished his golden retriever "Bubba" and “Gonzo”, taking them on walks and car rides with Judy. He enjoyed boating, camping, and fishing with his family. He loved working in his garage and listening to political talk shows on the radio. Later in life Ron loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Family was always Ron’s greatest love. His beautiful, contagious smile will always be remembered, with the deep love he had for his family. Ron was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Memorials may be made in Ronald's name to Down Syndrome Foundation, Merck Childhood Asthma Network, Stray Rescue O'Fallon.
