Ronald Squires

Sweetwater, Tennessee

Squires, Ronald “Ron” Elmo, age 84, of St. Louis, MO, passed away on Wednesday, November 8th, 2023.  He was the son of the late Elmo and Anna Belle Squires.  He was the beloved husband, of 62 years, to Suzanne Marie (Harrison); devoted father of Richard Squires, Steven (Melissa) Squires, Thomas (Jean) Squires, and Leanne Squires; loving grandfather of Crystal Lynette, Samantha Paige, Savanah Dawn, Madison McKenzie,  Steven Patrick Jr, Amanda Kay, David Alan, Derek Wade, Thomas Warren, Hailee Katherine “Jack”, Michael Anthony, Austin Thomas, and two great-grandchildren Jose and Conner Michael: he is a treasured brother to Judy (Jim) Howell.   He was preceded in death by his brothers: James Delano Squires, John Patrick Squires, Michael Robert Squires, and his parents.   

Ron enjoyed watching auto racing, fixing cars, and playing the guitar. He was in several bands stateside and with the USO while stationed in Japan, playing for the Aero Tones.  He will be remembered as a wonderful brother, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. 

He was a guiding light.

He will be interred at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
