Ronald “Ron” J. Vail, of Saint Peters, MO, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at the age of 68. Beloved husband of Janice L. Vail; cherished son of the late Donald John and Mary Frances Vail. Devoted father of Jeremy Vail and the late Joshua "Josh" Vail; loving Grandfather of Ethan Joseph (Lexi) Vail and Andrew James Vail; treasured great-grandfather of Mila and Lena Vail; dear brother of David Vail. Ron was also a dear brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Ron attended and graduated St. Charles Borromeo School. His educational journey led him through Duchesne High School and Bailey Technical School, where he graduated with distinguished honors. During high school, Ron ran track, and earned the esteemed rank of Eagle Scout.
Ron was acknowledged for his automotive expertise, which he honed over three decades as a technician at Pundmann Ford. After that, he turned his talents to maintenance in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Our Lady of the Cove Parish, and completed his career with five fulfilling years at St. Dominic High School. Outside of work, Ron focused his energy on coordinating the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church fish fries with his wife, coaching his son’s baseball teams, and being a board member of St. Charles Junior Softball and Baseball Association Board for ten years. He was an avid sports enthusiast, cheering for the St. Louis Cardinals and the St. Louis Blues, also participating in adult league hockey and softball leagues. He loved boating, camping and hunting. Above all, Ron cherished moments spent with his beloved family. Ron was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
