Ronnie G. “Choc” Turner

December 22, 1937 — May 27, 2022

Ronnie G. “Choc” Turner, of O’Fallon, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022, at the age of 84. Loving husband of Peggy J. Turner; beloved son of the late Carl L. and Mildred Turner; devoted father of Tina Marie (Dan) McCluskey and Ronnie G. (Patricia) Turner, Jr.; cherished grandfather of Jacob (Julie) Vermilye, Breanna (Troy) Mitchell, and Jordan Turner; treasured great grandfather of Bailey Vermilye, Brady Vermilye, and Easton Mitchell; dearest brother of Marell (Kay) Turner, Betty (the late Bernie) Wagner, and the late Dick Turner; and dear brother-in-law of Sondra Turner.

Ronnie grew up in Pearl, Illinois, where he met the love of his life Peggy, and they spent a very happy 63 years together. He proudly joined the United States Air Force and served in Okinawa, Japan. After his release from the military, Ronnie worked at McDonnell Douglas, and he happily retired after 35 years as a lab technician.

As a devoted man of Christ, Ronnie was a faithful member of Westlake Church of Christ in Wentzville, MO. He was also a member of the Wentzville Masonic Lodge, where he was a Past Master.

Being an avid outdoorsman, Ronnie especially loved fishing and hunting. He enjoyed traveling to Alaska and Canada, in the summers for fishing trips, as well as visiting family.  While on a trip in Alaska, he shot a black bear as he sat on the front porch. Ronnie also liked goose hunting with his buddies during his days at McDonnell Douglas. He enjoyed vacations with family to Vegas, Oregon, and Arizona to see other family also.

Ronnie was known as a big goofball, and he liked to tell jokes and make everyone laugh. He loved reminiscing with his family about the good ole days and tell his tales of mischief! Ronnie was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
