Flickinger, Rosalie, (nee: Carlson) of Florissant, MO, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2015. Beloved wife of Wayne E. Flickinger; dear mother of Cindy A. Flickinger, Judy (David) Heuring; Janet (Randy) Southmayd; Tom (Rose) Flickinger; and Tim (Amy) Flickinger. Grandmother to 9 grandchildren: Deanna Heuring; Katie (Brian) Bayley; Jake (Kacey) Flickinger, Brett (Jess) Heuring; Luke (Ashley) Flickinger, Melissa Southmayd, Carly Flickinger, Ian Flickinger and Joel Flickinger. Great-Grandmother of 5.
Rosalie was born on July 21, 1933 and raised in Galesburg, IL and graduated in 1951 from Galesburg High School. She was very involved in her church First Lutheran in Galesburg, IL. She went to secretarial school in Nebraska and came back to Galesburg to work.
She married Wayne on September 13, 1953 and they enjoyed 61 years together. Her husband was transferred to St. Louis in 1966 where she lived until the time of her death. She did various secretarial jobs throughout the St. Louis area. When her children began having children then she helped to take care of them.
She was very involved in her church Christ the King Lutheran, Florissant. She was president of the congregation and on many committees. She would go there every day and make sure things were ready for the next week's services.
She loved being with her family, going out to eat with her 'Lunch Bunch' friends, enjoyed watching her children/grandchildren in sports or musical activities, bird watching, and doing crossword puzzles. Most of all she loved planning reunions for her church friends and family.
In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Alzheimer's Association, American Heart/American Stroke Association or Donor's Choice.
