Rose Caraker

Rose Mary Caraker of O’Fallon, MO, passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017, at the age of 80. Cherished daughter of the late William and MaryAnn "Ursula" Jackson; devoted mother of Barbara (Michael) Donoho, Teresa (John) Loveless, Michael Chambless, Sandra (Joe) Smith, Donna (David) Whitley, and Pamela (Stephen) Rogers; loving grandmother of 18; treasured great-grandmother of 29; and dear great-great grandmother of one; sister of Kathleen Jackson; and cousin of JoAnne O'Toole. Rose is also survived by her former husband William Lloyd (Judy) Caraker and many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her first husband William Chambless; her brothers Robert, William, Donald, and Raymond; and her sisters Gerri and Doris.

Rose enjoyed life to its fullest and cherished her family. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and her non-judgmental personality. If there was a person in need, Rose would graciously reach out with a place to stay or a warm meal. In her free moments she stayed active by being a 4H Leader, bowling, adventuring out camping, playing bingo and board games, visiting the ‘Boat’, scratching off lottery tickets and watching the Wheel of Fortune. Rose was dearly loved and will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
