Rose M. Sturgess

Sturgess, Rose M. (nee: Vitale) of Florissant, MO, on Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the age of 85. Cherished daughter of the late Vincent and Katie Vitale; devoted mother of Scharlotte (Alan) Nelson, Diane Looser, Kathy (Carl) Thompson, and Patrick (Christy) Sturgess; loving grandmother of Jeff Thompson, Michael Blondin, Candice (Casey) Logue, Daniel (Keri) Thompson, Blake (Sarah) Miller, Wesley Looser, Brooke Sturgess, Zach Nelson, and the late Desiree Looser; treasured great-grandmother of Quentin Blondin, Abigail and Boston Thompson, Cash Logue, and Jude, Drake, and Olive Miller. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Frank Vitale, Lawrence Vitale, Joe Vitale, and Fannie Vitale.

Rose retired from the St. Louis City Police Department Bureau of Investigations after 28 years of dedicated service in Administration. She was a hardworker and was awarded Employee of the Year in 1989. She loved to dance, especially the Jitterbug, and enjoyed fishing. Rose truly loved spending time with her family. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew her.
