Rosemarie Anne “Rosie” Wilmes

June 28, 1944 — June 7, 2014

Rosemarie Anne 'Rosie' Wilmes (nee: Lowther), Baptized into the hope of Christ's Resurrection June 7, 2014 at the age of 69. Preceded in death by her father, Noel E. Lowther, and mother, Catherine 'Kitty' Polliham Lowther. Survived by brothers Thomas Lowther of Webster Groves, and Charles (Susan) Lowther of Reno, NV; daughters Donna Wilmes Jurkowski and Kristine (James) Wilmes Bohn; loving grandmother to Zachary and Matthew Jurkowski, and Jared and Rachel Bohn, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
Rosie was involved with Girl Scouts for 15 years and was employed by the GM plant in Wentzville. In retirement, she devoted her time to making prayer shawls and working with elementary children through the Foster Grandparent Program at both Crossroads Elementary and Progress South Elementary. Rosie enjoyed reading books, watching movies, and doing counted cross stitch. Her love of animals and nature took her to the mountains of Colorado, where she felt most at home. She also loved music and some of her fondest memories include listening to the Younger Brothers with 'Joyce's Group' and hanging out with 'Edna's group'. Rosie enjoyed cooking and collecting recipes. She also played the guitar and piano. Rosie was loved much and will be missed by all.
Rosie was proud to be a breast cancer survivor and so in lieu of flowers; her family would like to thank all of the staff at the St. Peters Siteman Center by making a donation in her name. Please send donations in care of the Siteman Cancer Center.
